Rose room Victorian home queen bed private bath

Very cute and welcoming B&B guest house. It was not clear to me that our private bathroom was across the hall. Some are and some not so check for that.

Could have been better. Negative: I recently stayed at the Blooming Inn in Shelburne Falls and would have liked to give five stars across the board; however, there were a few issues worth noting. First, the location itself is lovely. The inn is nestled on a quiet street in a modest neighborhood, and the overall cleanliness of the property was excellent. I believe I stayed in the Rose Room. One thing future guests should know is that the bathroom is located across the hall from the bedroom. It is designated specifically for the Rose Room, so while it is private to the guest staying in that room, it is not directly connected to the bedroom. My biggest concern was the bedding. The sheets, pillows, and blankets had a very strong, stale odor. It was noticeable enough that I did not feel comfortable sleeping underneath the bedding. Instead, I slept on top of the primary blanket and used an additional blanket from the bottom of the bed as a cover, although that blanket unfortunately had a similar odor. I also noticed a stale odor on the towels provided in both the bedroom and bathroom. For context, I had driven approximately 12 hours before arriving and was simply too exhausted to relocate or have a conversation with the owner about these concerns that evening. I had paid for two nights but ultimately stayed for only one. There were still aspects of the stay that I enjoyed. In the morning, I initially wanted a cup of coffee, but I noticed that one of the bags of coffee grounds provided had an expiration date in 2025, so I decided to have tea instead. I enjoyed my cup of tea while sitting on the beautiful wraparound porch before heading out. It was a peaceful and relaxing way to start the morning. Overall, this is a quaint bed-and-breakfast in a quiet setting with plenty of charm.

Positive: It’s amazing. It’s like a museum. Negative: The radiator came on in the morning and the room was too hot. I didn’t know how to turn it down.

Nice way station on the way to Vermont Positive: Well maintained older home in quaint town. Bathroom separate from bedroom.
